Through many years of practice, we have created innovation together with clients, or established innovation competence in client organisation. Additionally, we have used our Innovation Pathway in creating our own innovation. Below is an excerpt of references for each of the three categories.

Innovation in collaboration with clients

South Jutland Hospital, SHS

Challenge: The need for structure and systematic approach in realization of the hospital’s strategy for Creative Development.
Organisation: Teams from staffs and clinical service department (department management, academic doctor, senior doctors, junior doctors, nurses, staff employees, administrative employees). Project Manager: Keldmann Innovation. Steering Committee: Hospital management.
Solution: Application, customization and expansion of the Innovation and Management System for use in SHS. Made from specification, development, implementation to production phase.

Odense University Hospital, OUH

Challenge: Create project portfolio overview. Establish systematic and creative approach in research and development work. Structure projekt idea qualification and selection. Ease the start of new projects.
Organization: Team from departments (department managements, research professors, senior doctors, junior doctors, physicists, project nurses, laboratory technicians, statisticians and administrative staff). Project Manager: Keldmann Innovation. Steering Committee: Hospital management.
Solution: Application, adaptation and expansion of LBI for use in the hospital sector. IT platform selected to support the hospital’s existing Microsoft licensing. Made from the specification, development, implementation and operation phase of the three departments.

Union Medico A/S

Challenge: Strengthen business-to-business communication of innovative technology injected drug delivery.
Organization: Union Medico management and Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI to illustrate the technology’s ability to meet customer needs and identification of key messages in business-to-business communications.

Symbion Science Park

Challenge: Identify “innovation points” for Symbion products and services, as well as directions for further business development.
Organization: Symbion’s managing director and Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI for the creation of the Symbion innovation tree, with the mission ”Innovation-base Business Startup and Growth.” Identification and specifications created for development projects to strengthen of “The Symbion Way”.

Falck Denmark A/S

Challenge: Identify “innovation points” for achieving increased sales of satellite-based monitoring of passenger cars / trucks / trailers and boats.
Organization: Internal project team. Project Manager: Keldmann Innovation. Steering committee: The business area management.
Solution: Application of LBI for the creation of stakeholder overview and innovation tree. Identification and specification of innovation projects for increased sales.

High Performance Institute

Challenge: Enable exploitation, across professions, of HPI members’ individual experiences when creating and practicing their own “high performance”.
Organization: Team of individuals chosen among the most prominent in Danish sports, culture and business. Individually, each has all created great results. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI to identify the “anatomy” of high performance in each individual specialty. Use of LBI to gather insight – across professions – and create the HPI innovation tree with the mission “Promote High Performance”.

Matas A/S

Challenge: The environmentally-conscious consumers expect environmental care and documentation.
Organization: Project team of all Matas product managers and resource persons from Danish Environmental Protectiona Agency (EPA). Project management: Keldmann Innovation. Steering committee: Matas top management.
Solution: Application of LBI for the creation of Matas innovation tree, with the mission “Ensuring Family Well-being – at the lowest contamination of near and distant environment”. The Innovation tree applied for direction for future business development. Use of LBI for the creation of documentation concept for vendor products’ environmental performance in product lifecycle phases manufacture, use and disposal.

Ballerup Municipality

Challenge: Strengthening and renewing efforts to help disadvantaged citizens to help themselves.
Organization: Internal team of councellors and specialists. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI to create new strategies and concepts for self help in realization of the following missions: “Job-Integrate Alcoholics”, “Re-activate Anxiety-disadvantaged”,”Customize Client Assistance Offers”,”Self-Improve Sole-parent/provider-ability’.

The Albani Foundation

Challenge: The island Funen needs strengthening professionally and culturally. Funen needs to attract people and businesses from the rest of Denmark. Innovation and Innovation Skills are essential.
Organization: Project Team by Keldmann Innovation, external specialists and High Performance Institute. Reference to the Albani Foundation board.
Solution: Application of LBI for the development the innovation tree and complete project proposal for realization of Piet Hein Innovation Center. A center for the creation of innovation and innovation skills, for the benefit of private and public organizations: Socio-economic innovation.

SCA Hygiene Products A/S

Challenge: A mature market with price competition. Lack of competitive advantage in relation to the various stakeholders.
Organization: Project Team with the senior management and company nurses. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI to stakeholder analysis and creation of product innovation tree, with the mission: “Society Optimize Incontinence Care”. Visualization of the total economy for the customers and the development of new service and logistic concepts.

Coloplast A/S

Challenge: Identify future “innovation points” in Ostomy Division.
Organization: Project Team of Division’s management and internal and external specialists. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI for the creation of Ostomy division’s innovation tree, with the mission “Minimize Ostomy discomfort”. Using Innovation tree for identification of needs for innovation, and creation of project ideas. Using the Innovation Tree for commercial inspiration for the company’s international ostomy sales and marketing managers.

A/S Dansk Shell

Challenge: Specify, develop and implement product and service innovation in all business areas.
Organization: Six internal teams staffed from each of the four largest business areas. Management of all six teams: Keldmann Innovation. Steering Committee: Senior management.
Solution: Application of LBI to: identify the innovation needs in each business area. Specify product and service development, complete development and testing of product and service innovations, as well as implement and launch product and service innovations. Application of LBI to prepare for Shell’s commercial exploitation of innovations in the other Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway and Finland).

GORI/Dyrup

Challenge: Create a basis for product and service innovation in the business area “wood preservation”.
Organization: Internal project team, supplemented by experts from the National Building Research Institute. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI for the identification and mapping of risk zones for moisture/fungus in wooden house constructions. Creating Innovation tree for new wood preservation concept. Specification of technology and product development project. Development, testing and patenting of the new technology.

Superfos/Flügger

Challenge: Create packaging innovation to increase sales and rationalize production of interior wall paint.
Organization: Internal teams from both companies, supplemented by externals. Project management: Keldmann Innovation. Steering committee: Superfos senior management and Flügger senior management.
Solution: Application of LBI for the creation of Innovation tree for the new packaging concept. Specification of packaging and production line development. Development, testing, patenting and maturing for production of the packaging. Packaging received the packaging industry’s World Star Award.

Innovation Competence established in client organisation

Sygehus Sønderjylland, SHS

Challenge: Education and training of project managers in a clinical service department. Create educational project cases for each project type.
Organization: Participants from the clinical services department (department management, academic doctor, senior doctors, junior doctors, nurses). Teachers: Keldmann Healthcare.
Solution: Hands-on instruction and training with a combination of lessons and training tasks. Development and production of comprehensive instructional videos structured in the”Learning and Help Center”. Videos ensure easily accessible instruction/education for hospital employees who have many operational tasks. Education and training of 10 project managers.

Odense University Hospital, OUH

Challenge: Education and training of project managers in three departments. Create educational project cases for each project type in each department.
Organization: Participants: department managements, research professors, senior doctors, junior doctors, physicists, project nurses, laboratory technicians, statisticians. Teachers: Keldmann Healthcare with contributions from case project managers.
Solution: Hands-on instruction and training with a combination of lessons and training tasks. Development of supplementary instructional videos for subsequent reference. Education and training of 60 project managers.

The National Labour Market Authority (AMS)/European Social Fund

Challenge: Need for higher project idea quality and improved project management to ensure full utilization of the Social Fund contributions.
Organization: Internal team from AMS. External resource persons. Project management: Keldmann Innovation.
Solution: Application of LBI to identify criteria and processes for project idea evaluation and allocation of funds. Application of LBI for the development of 1-year multi-module project management training and education of 40 European Project Managers.

Own innovation 

Healthcare Innovation & Management System

Challenge: Increase health sector innovation and project related competences, and facilitating interdisciplinary cooperation in the development of coherent patient courses.
Organization: Own development. Virtual organisation of hospital teams and IT-specialists are involved in development and implementation of the system.
Solution: Application of LBI for the development and implementation of IT-system concept and content, training and instruction/education videos. Sales and implementation of the system is implemented in 4 hospital departments. In 2010 all rights to the system were acquired by our subsidiary Keldmann Healthcare.

Direct-Haler™

Challenge: Increase patient compliance for pulmonary (lung) and nasal (nose) drug delivery.
Organization: Own development. Virtual organization with international specialists and specialist companies in our subsidiary Direct-Haler A/S.
Solution: Application of LBI for the development and patenting of two device technologies (device site). Internationally positioned drug delivery innovation. Received the 2010 an international innovation award. All technology assets and rights were acquired in 2010 by Trimel Pharmaceutical Corporation (now Acerus Pharmaceuticals).

Elpan™/Wanpan™

Challenge: Improve comfort and energy efficiency in room heating and cooling.
Organization: Own development. Team and specialists involved in development. Own manufacturing plant and international export to more than 10 countries.
Solution: Application of LBI for the development and realization of electrical and hot water-based room heating. Application of LBI for the development and realization of cold water-based room cooling system. All activities and rights were acquired in 1986 by Superfos A/S.

Leadership by Innovation™ (LBI)

Challenge: Increase the success rate and efficiency of the innovation process and ensure consistency and involvement of all relevant management levels.
Organization: Own development. Teams and specialists involved in developing, refining and simplifying the philosophy and methodology.
Solution: Coherent philosophy and methodology. Matured over several decades of innovation practice – both in consulting and own innovations. Application of LBI to develop the software version. Keldmann Healthcare has acquired exclusive rights to use LBI in Healthcare Innovation and Management System.
